The printer family must perform work as varied as the printing of school work, working papers, greeting cards, digital photos, etc.. Therefore why a versatile, print speed is not an overriding criterion. Finally, note that there are models that are multi-function office fax, scanner and photocopier at home. Such a model all-in-one may be interesting: it saves you buying a separate scanner and you will save some space.

Whatever type of printer, it must be:

• A resolution of 600x600 dpi minimum
• A print speed from April to June ppm minimum.
• With Interface : PC parallel, USB for Mac. Choose a printer with both if possible (more versatile).

A printer must be selected based on its use. The purchase price of a printer is not the only criterion to consider, look the price of consumables. If color is not essential, it is better to decide what type of printer. They are monochromatic and are primarily oriented text. Generally, they offer a clear impression and smoothed. If you intend to print graphs, it is better to take a model with an internal memory of 4 MB, 1 MB for text only. The resolution is a parameter which denotes the accuracy of the printer. It is defined by a pair of numbers (eg 600x1200 dpi *). In general, these numbers are high, the printer will be more accurate.
