Hello friends I am using Acer laptop in which I have installed windows 7 and my laptop is working normally. I normally use convertxtodvd software to make my all the DVDs and it is very nice software. From last few days I am facing one problem with in my computer. Now whenever I try to burn any disk in my laptop at that time everything worked fine at the start of the burning it gives me an error. Now please tell me what I should do to fix this problem.
First of all I would like to suggest you that you have to check whether you are able to burn the disk with other software or not. try to burn the disk from Nero or imgburn and then check whether it is allowing to burn the disk or not. if you are not able to burn the disk from there also then I think there might be something wrong with your DVD ROM only and if you are able to burn the disk from other application then I think there might be something wrong with the software.
It looks like problem is not with your DVD ROM but it is the convertxtodvd software issue and I think you have to first uninstall the convertxtodvd from your laptop and after that restart the laptop and then you have to install convertxtodvd again in your laptop. Now after installing the convertxtodvd in your laptop you have to check that whether you are getting the same problem or not. I think after reinstalling the software you will not get any error.
As you have mentioned in your post about reinstalling the convertxtodvd software in my laptop that trick did not worked for me. After reinstalling the convertxtodvd also I am getting the same problem. Now after trying that I have also tried to burn the DVD from different application and I was able to burn the disk from different application. Now please tell me what should I do to get rid of this problem. Any help will be appreciated.
I normally use set convertX output to my hard disk folder and I don’t burn disk from the conertx and after that I burn that file in from imgburn. I would also like to suggest you this solution. You can easily find imgburn software from internet and after that you have to download it in your computer and then install it in your system. Now after that burn that file into the CD or DVD and after that you will be able to burn the disk. If you want any more information then let me know.
The solution which you have mentioned in above post after reading that I have first downloaded imgburn software from internet and after that I have installed it in my system. Now after that I have converted my movie files and after that I have saved it in my hard disk and after that I have tried to burn it from imgburn software and that idea really worked for me. Now I am able to burn the disk. Thank you for helping me and giving me this solution.

Skype 5.3 crashes when on call
I am having gigabyte motherboard. I am using Skype 5.3 version. I am getting some sort of mad stuff's with Skype. Basically my Skype is getting crashed. The problem is that when I am calling a friend, then the connection is established and when the call is connected, then suddenly Skype displays crash error message. Thus after that Skype gets shutdown. Please provide some solutions to it to solve the problem of Skype.
I also had issue with Skype 5.3 it would initiate and then crash. I mean just open and then quit, you can say it disappear. I am using Windows 7 64 Bit. After searching for this issue he solution for me was to go to the start menu right click on SKYPE then open Properties > compatibility >compatibility mode then remove the tick from. "Run this application in compatibility. This worked for me I expect it works for you and would be able to use Skype properly.
If you are getting an error while calling to someone then you should have appropriate driver. Some would be getting Skype has been crashed or some would be getting Skype stopped working error message. So for this the driver you need is the chipset driver. You have mentioned that you are having Gigabyte motherboard, thus you should find the chipset driver for it and install it on your computer. Thus it would avoid such problem anymore
You can try to have a updated version of it. You are using Skype 5.3 version, look for their website and download a newer version of it and setup that on your computer. Even as mentioned about chipset driver, so also download the newer version of it, by going to Gigabyte website and setup these same. Now then see the changes on your computer by restarting your computer. The changes take effect only after restart.
The updated version can fix the issue of Skype crash, but you can try to solve the issue by uninstalling the existing application. When doing that sees that you also remove all the entries of Skype from registry editor. This is because there are still some entries left in registry when application is uninstalled. After this install back the application version you want, see to it that you install the correct application; it should be genuine from official Skype site.
If the problem which you are facing is still not solved even by referring the above solutions then you should contact the support site. You should try to contact them and let them know about their issue. You can leave a mail having your query to them. The support would definitely revert back to you with the possible solutions to it. Thus you can have a try for these solutions and this would also help you to make the calls from your Skype.

Installation Failure of Skype 5.0 on windows XP
I have Dell E6410 laptop and demanding to set up Skype 5.0 when it is operating Windows XP Pro SP3. I get an installation error when installing Skype on my laptop. I guess the download setup seems well. So when you run the installation after installation begins and runs all the way through 3 screens of progress prior to it stops. I use Skype dreadfully soon, so please help me how to solve this by giving possible solutions to it so I can use the same soon.
I was having the same problem previously when I was trying to install Skype on my computer. I even had made such query on many forums and after that I got the solution to it. You just have to try to have full version of Skype. I don’t think that there would be problem other than this. I have found that many people directly think that it is an operating system problem. But before considering this just have full version of it and then setup the same.
Yes definitely you should go for full version of Skype and then install it on your laptop. When you try this you should see that you are having administrator privileges on your laptop. If you are not having so, then I guess this would be the reason for the installation failure. It would be better if you specify here the exact error you are getting on your laptop. Just mention the error while you are getting during the Skype installation.
Well thanks for giving a reply here. As you all said tried to have full version of Skype and the things were same. When I start the installation then it stops and I get an error popup with heading Problem with Shortcut. The description mentioned was fatal error during installation. Thus the installation doesn’t proceeds ahead when I say OK to that dialog. I have also tried to setup the installation using administrator rights of my laptop.
Well this is the proper information that you have mentioned by reposting here. As you have tried the most possible solutions that were given here. The next thing I suggest you to check whether your directory is having the installation directory. When you are trying to install the Skype setup on your laptop, then it makes an installation folder most probably on your system drive. It is needed that setup makes that directory on your laptop, so that you can use this software.
I would say that just try to install the Skype setup again on your laptop. I guess that trying it multiple times you would be able to get Skype working on your laptop. If you get the same problem by trying out installation several times then first just uninstall the Skype. Just ensure that you use Add remove program of windows, so that it would uninstall it completely. Sometimes it doesn’t uninstall completely then you should try to use some advanced uninstaller which is best at their work.
I think that Skype setup fails because of some security software which is installed on your laptop. So just check for this software, probably any firewall or antivirus. Just disable their services and then setup the Skype again. It may work, else you should look for the registry editor and see the entry of Skype and remove all those entries and then again install it. I hope that this solution would work and probably solve your problem of installation failure.

Unable to delete movie file
I have a computer. On this computer I downloaded a file utilizing a Peer 2 Peer service and I cannot remove it. I have attempted the whole thing, booting in safe mode, utilizing kill box and nothing works. I cannot even remove the entire folder that it is in. I also cannot shift it. I say it is an .mpeg but I think it may be an .avi or mov. I cannot even tell what the file name is because it is much long. Also when I twice click on it does not install, now it use windows media. It is similar to the file does not even be present.
I would like to suggest you that some procedures may be it will give you some help for solving your problem. First all you will go into the start. And then you will open run then you will type TASKMGR.exe. After that you will go to the processes tab and after that last process on explorer.exe. After that you will open the task manager. And then after you will reverse back to the command prompt and then alter to the directory where the file is situated. At the command prompt type DEL where is the file you desire to remove. After that you will return to Task Manager and then you will press File and then after new task and enter EXPLORER.exe to resume the GUI shell. And finally you will shut Task Manager.
You can utilize the older DOS "shortname". In the days before Windows, file names under MS-DOS could only be eleven characters long. For compatibility with old programs that relied on that, for every file with a name longer than that, Windows makes an inimitable "shortname". For example, if the file is named "thisisalongfilename.isntit", a DIR /X in a command prompt may illustrate the shortname as "THISIS~1.ISN". It passes on to the similar file, that’s why you can delete utilizing the shortname.
Well, that definitely assisted with getting the file, but it seems that my computer disgust me. It now says "the process cannot access the file because it is being utilized by one more program," though I have already finished explorer.exe. However, when I go back and try and remove it openly, it just says that explorer is utilizing it; therefore I do not know what additional programs are concerned, which odd is considering the first one was deleted in this way with no problem.
Explorer is attempting to be too smart (and then not) by whenever you look through the directory that includes the avi's or press on an avi it attempts to gather information such as dimensions, play time etc. To do this it clearly has to have a lock on the file to read it, which takes a few seconds and you are attempting to delete it throughout that time. You can set your explorer view so the columns that hold media correlated information are not showing (and thus means explorer would not attempt to open
I want to tell you some steps. So please understand very carefully these steps. Theses steps is given as below:
First of all open a Command Prompt and go away it open. (Click Start, then Run, type cmd, and click "Ok")
After that you will shut all open programs.
You will want to shut EXPLORER.EXE. The correct way to close Explorer is to carry up the "turn off Windows" dialog (choose "turn off" from the start menu), hold down CTRL+SHIFT+ALT and push the "Cancel" button. Explorer will leave modestly.
After that you will go back to the Command Prompt and alter to the root directory by using typing cd \ and clicking "Enter". At the C :\> prompt, type the path to the irremovable file (i.e. C:\>program files\folder). At the resulting command prompt type DEL undeletable where undeletable is the name of the file you desire to remove. Click "Enter".
Then after you will type exit and click "Enter" to shut the command session.
After that you will return to Task Manager, press "File", then after “New Task", then after you will write explorer.exe, and press "Ok" to resume the GUI shell.
And final step is to shut Task Manager.
I would like to tell you some procedure to delete the movie file. I have some steps. Please read the steps very carefully and fix your problem. These steps are given as below:
first of all you will remove all reg entries, then remove the program utilizing (a) windows uninstaller, then b] its individual uninstaller and maybe c] a business or free of charge uninstaller
If ineffective, it may be because of you not killing the systray icon for the crisis, and all shortcuts
Attempt to actually drop the file into any one of many file kill, or unlocker programs
Re-verify the registry for presently the one file that appears to be hung up, and see if it can be establish in the Windows Shell folder and kill it
And one slight scam I utilize is to make a new folder on c:\ I often give it a silly name, like The House on Haunted Hill, which has nothing to do with the magic of the exercise. Often these files sit obstinately avoiding your efforts to remove them, but they like to go on a tour. So, pick them up and drop them off at the Haunted House all very stupid, but it works. They will lie down and die after a day or so then you can remove them.
If the file does not remove then, it may be related with a malware stay those associate to discover what to do.
Often over time, the file will presently stop being a pest and allow you to remove it, so if it not actually causing any problems just leaves it is for some day.

Unable to make Calls in Skype 5.3
I just upgraded my Skype 4.2to 5.3 and after that I cannot call anyone. If I perform that it says Skype stopped functioning and it is closed mechanically. I removed Compatibility and Automatic update options but at a standstill it’s not functioning. What can I do? I really not able to find any solution for this, this is really annoying now. Please if anyone here has any idea or any useful information for me which help me to solve this issue than please provide me.
Just right click on Computer symbol and choose Manage or depart to Control Panel - Administrative tools and choose Computer Management. You can as well enter compmgmt.msc in Windows Start Search/Run box. All this will unlock Computer Management window. Choose Event Viewer – Custom Views – Administrative Events. Seem for any messages with a time stamp close to the time of Skype collide. As well, while you get the error message “Skype stopped functioning ...” there might as well be an alternative to “View trouble details”. Choose this alternative and make a copy of the details.
The trouble is the similar as quite lots of other users have with SiS Mirage 3 display driver and the most recent edition of Skype. If you make a search on this forum for SISGRUMD.DLL you will discover lots of other posts with the similar error message. The only presently obtainable solution (to my knowledge) is to replace the installed driver with unique driver from the chip manufacturer. This is just a suggestion and not even mine.
I don’t self have any skill with SiS drivers and would not like to be guilty for any troubles, which this suggestion can make for you. In any case, I would powerfully recommend that earlier than doing any driver update you make a restore point, so you can all the time revert to the old settings. I am looking currently on the SiS website. There is a large caution written with red capital letters and you necessitate accepting the over conditions. After that you should choose the SiS UniVGA5 graphics driver and download it to your PC.
This is what my Event viewer illustrated this morning. Skype was functioning well last night and for the last quite a lot of days and I did not modernize anything. Now it won't initiate. I just dig up "Skype is not functioning". I uninstalled and reinstalled it. It illustrates that it is installed; however, I at a standstill get "Skype is not functioning" while I attempt to unlock it. Skype 5.3 looks to be functioning well on my Windows Vista 7 Home Premium 64-bit computer, but not the Windows 7 one.
The error message that you have stated here, most probably has not anything to accomplish with the Skype application. It is the so called Secure Channel blunder and you get it at any time you are visiting the forum page by utilizing Internet Explorer. There is a known insect on the forum site but aside from making this irritating error message, it’s safe. You necessitate unlocking your Windows Even Viewer – Administrative events and seeming for error messages straight related to Skype.
